Arts In Schooling National Program

We imagine the essential human want for that means and self expression is best satisfied by the study and apply of the humanities. Our devoted crew of administrators collaborates with a roster of over 200 completed instructing and performing artists who symbolize Brooklyn’s variety and display professionalism, artistic excellence and instructing skill, to interact all members of the group in dynamic artistic activities.

Marit Dewhurst, Ed.M.’03, the director of artwork schooling an assistant professor in artwork and museum training at City School of New York (CUNY), where she also directs Metropolis Artwork Lab, a community artwork schooling program, revealed her e book, Social Justice Art: A Framework for Activist Art Pedagogy , with Harvard Training Press in 2014.arts and education

She has contributed articles to such collections as Culturally Relevant Arts Education for Social Justice (co-edited by Mary Stone Hanley and others), Research in Artwork Training, and the article, Ka ulana ‘ana i ka piko (In Weaving You Begin on the Middle) , in the special spring 2013 arts-education problem of the Harvard Educational Review.

It’s an important dialog to have in our complex society, and one that in all probability wouldn’t have happened with out a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grant that made the screening —in addition to different arts-education tasks the Pageant does with Columbia’s Ragtag Cinema and native public colleges — attainable.arts and education
